Floris United Methodist Women's (UMW's) Goals

 

To support and strengthen the women of Floris to be the hands and feet of Christ's mission. To build awareness of mission activities within the church community.

 

To support the women of Floris through Christian care and fellowship. To offer opportunities for spiritual development and growth.

 

Small Groups for Women at Floris

 

There are currently two small groups within the Floris United Methodist Women (UMW).

  1. The Roundtable Circle is a Bible study group that has evening meetings every-other-week in the home of one of its members. This circle's mission is to provide women of the church with an opportunity to be in the Word and to discuss how it relates to their daily lives. Contact Nelia Millington for specific meeting dates and times.
     
  2. The Saturday Morning Circle meets twice each month. Normally, one meeting is dedicated to mission and the other to fellowship. The "mission meeting" date varies, depending upon the outreach project selected. The "fellowship meeting" is held at a local restaurant in Herndon the LAST Saturday of every month from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. We are a very casual come-as-you-are fellowship group for busy women. The format is mostly sharing and caring, with a focus on mission and fellowship. Contact Susan Davis or Susan McDonald Osborn for more information.

These small groups allow women of all ages, employment and family situations to become involved.

 

United Methodist Women Events 

All women of the Church are invited to participate in the United Methodist Women (UMW) events and activities! UMW sponsors activities for all members. For infomation on Women's Events describes events for all members click here.   

 Membership In United Methodist Women 

 
Membership in the UMW is open to all women of Floris Church and is one of the most enjoyable ways to get to know the women of this church and to engage in a variety of worthwhile service activities as well. UMW members have found that the group is truly a source of many caring and enduring friendships. If you would like to become a member, please contact the UMW Membership Chair.

 

Pledges and Donations

 

There are no "dues" in Floris' UMW. However, most of our members do pledge annually. If you would like to support the UMW financially, please make your check payable to the Floris UMW and place it in the UMW box at church. Questions? Please contact the UMW Treasurer.
