MOPS:  Mothers Of Preschoolers

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and is a faith-based program designed to nurture mothers with children from infancy through kindergarten.  MOPS groups meet in churches throughout the United States, Canada, and 19 other countries.  MOPS is about celebrating motherhood, meeting our unique needs, making connections with other moms, and experiencing God’s love through relationships and resources. 

The Floris MOPS theme for ’08-’09 will be:  “Adventures in Mothering” based on Ephesians 3:18 “…how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.”  The dimensions of this verse express how God is with us in our mothering adventure. Knowing this gives us hope. God’s love is big enough for the magnitude of the adventure!

As a member of the Floris UMC MOPS program, I understand that my registration allows me to attend only the two (2) Monday meetings per month as designated in my confirmation email (to be sent out late Spring / early Summer).  I further understand that I will be expected to work in the nursery or MOPPETS room approximately one (1) Monday a month during the alternate group’s meeting which will require attendance at one safety training session and the completion of a background check as is required of all childcare workers at Floris UMC.
