At Floris we challenge everyone who attends to find a ministry and find a small group. Participation in ministry is normative to the Christian life. If we are to be like Jesus, we must serve one another. In serving we grow into the persons God designed us to be. We grow in love of God and in love of neighbor. We learn that God has uniquely designed us to for a purpose and we find fulfillment of that purpose in service to others.
It is also in these opportunities to grow and serve that we become connected to one another. We grow as a Christian community committed to Christ and to one another. As we study God's word and as we live it out in our lives, we become the Body of Christ. In our actions Christ is revealed.
The opportunities for ministry are as varied as the parts of the body. Some opportunities, such as teaching Sunday School, are year long commitments. Other opportunities may only be once a year, such as Rebuilding Together. Some ministries impact our congregation like serving as the Coffee Fellowship host/hostess and others reach out to the local community like our monthly Grace Ministries. No matter what talents and gifts you bring to bear, no matter how much time you have to give, there is a place for you to serve.
