Data Entry Volunteer - Input weekly church attendance and membership data. 2 hours, once a month.
Database Clean-up Volunteer - Assist with process of moving data to a new database. 6-8 hours in summer.
IT Support Volunteer - On-site and/or telephone support, providing IT expertise and advice regarding the church LAN (Microsoft SBS 2003). 5-10 hours a month.
Office Helper - Answer the phone, make copies, assist as needed. 2-3 hours a week.
Offering Counter - Count the Sunday offering. 1 hour after the 11 am or 6 pm service on a rotating schedule.
Adult Ministries
Lenten Series Small Group Leader - Lead small group during Lent. 2-3 hours a week for six weeks.
Small Group Leader - Lead a small group for September through June. 2 hours per week on day/time that is convenient for you.
Adult Ministry Leader - Provide leadership to small group ministry. 2-3 hours per month.
Women's Ministry Event Planner - Be part of a small group that plans and coordinates spiritual growth events for women.
Children's Ministry
Kids Night Out (KNO) Helper - Assist with K-2nd grade fellowship group. 3 hours on a Friday evening, once a month.
KID Power Helper - Assist with 3rd/4th grade group. 3 hours on a Friday evening, once a month.
G3 - God, Girls, and Guys Helper - Assist with evening events for 5th/6th grade boys evening events. 3 hours on a Friday evening, once a month.
Special Events Helper - Assist with special events for for children. 2-3 hours per event.
Sunday School Substitute Teacher - Sub for Sunday School teacher for preschool or school age children. 1 1/2 hours a week, as needed.
Sunday School Student Assistant - Assist with Sunday School (must be 6th grade or older). 1 hour per week.
Sunday School Closet Organizer - Organize and clean out education classroom closets. 4 times a year.
Sunday School Curriculum Sorter - Sort and distribute curriculum. 3 times a year.
Sunday School Buddy - Work one-on-one with a child during Sunday School. Twice a month (required training provided).
Summer Worship Camp Assistant - Assist with summer camps. As needed, late spring, early summer.
Preschool VBS Volunteer - Help with preschool Vacation Bible School. Early June.
Elementary VBS Volunteer - Help with Vacation Bible School for elementary school children. Late June.
Sunday School Teacher - Teach Sunday School to preschool or school-age children. 1 and 1/2 hours a week (required training provided).
Summer Sunday School Coordinator - Assist with planning of and coordinate summer Sunday School program. 2 hours a week (required training provided).
Summer Sunday School Teacher - Teach Sunday School during the summer. 2 hours a week (training provided).
Vacation Bible School Teacher - Teach VBS. 3 hours a day, 5 days (required training provided).
Vacation Bible School Student Assistant - Assist with VBS classroom (must be 6th grade or older). 3 hours a day, 5 days (required training provided).
Communications
Bulletin Printer - Print the bulletins for Sunday worship services. 2-3 hours one Thursday morning a month.
Bulletin Board Designer - Decorate and update the bulletin boards. 2-3 hours a month.
Copy Editor - Edit copy (proofread). 4-5 hours a month.
Devotional Author - Write a devotional for the annual Floris devotional booklet. 1-2 hours a year.
Document Translator - Translate English text to Spanish and vice versa for Floris communications. 4-5 hours a month.
Floris Flyer Photocopier - Print the Floris Flyer newsletter. 2 hours a month.
Public Relations Volunteer - Help write, distribute press releases and media advisories. 4-5 hours a month.
Website Programmer - Write code for Web site functionality. 4-5 hours a month.
Website Content Coordinator - Maintain page(s) with up-to-date content. No programming skills required. 4-5 hours a month.
Writer - Write articles for Floris Flyer, women's e-newsletter, local papers, and/or Web site. 4-5 hours a month.
Photographer - Photograph events. 1-2 hours a month, as needed.
Congregational Care
Angels on Call Monthly Coordinator - Arrange for the delivery of services (e.g., meals) by the corps of Angels. 5 hours a week, for a two-week period.
Altar Flower Delivery Volunteer - Deliver flowers used during worship to an individual or family. 1-2 hours per delivery (rotating schedule).
Emergency Childcare Provider - Provide care to children when a family faces an emergency. 3-4 hours per time.
Errand Runner - Make a run to the grocery store, drug store for an individual or family facing an emergency. 2-3 hours per errand.
Funeral Reception Helper - Assist with set-up and food for receptions after funerals. 3-4 hours per reception.
Home and/or Yard Maintenance Helper - Provide practical help in the house or yard when an individual or family faces an emergency. 3-4 hours per event.
Lost Sheep Volunteer - Make phone calls to members who have missed worship. 1 hour a week in the evening.
Meal Provider - Make and deliver a meal for an individual or family facing an emergency. 2-3 hours per meal.
Transportation Provider - Provide transportation to/from doctor's appointments for an individual or family facing an emergency. 3-4 hours per trip.
Visitor - Visit with an older adult. 1-2 hours per visit.
Visitation Coordinator -Assist with coordination of visits. 1-2 hours per week.
Prayer Ministry Member - Pray for members and friends of Floris. 2-3 hours per month.
Respite Caregiver - Care for children with special needs, in the evening. 2-3 hours, once a quarter.
Card Ministry Member - Send cards to members and friends of Floris. 2 hours, twice a year.
Stephen Ministry Member - Provide ongoing Christian support to people in difficult times. (50 hrs required training provided).
OWLS Ministry Member - Participate in fellowship events with "Older, Wiser, Loving Seniors." 2-3 hours per event.
Creative Worship Team
Audio Technician - Help with sound system during worship. 1 and 1/2 hours per service (required training provided).
Camera Operator - Operate video camera during worship. 1 and 1/2 hours per service (required training provided).
Drama Team Member - Participate in skits, dramatic readings. 2-3 hours per month.
Worship Slide Presentation Team Member (Morning) - Run slide presentation during worship services. 1 and 1/2 hours per service (required training provided).
Worship Planning Team Member - Help plan, design and coordinate experiential worship. 2-3 hours per month.
Video Producer - Help produce videos for Sunday worship experiences. 2-3 hours a month.
Visual Designer - Create visual displays of artwork, for example. 2-3 hours a month.
Facility Maintenance
Carpenter (or helper) - Provide carpentry skills to maintenance team. 1-2 hours a month.
Electrician (or helper) - Provide electrical skills to maintenance team. 1-2 hours a month.
Odd Job Team Leader - Provide leadership to a team that does odd jobs around the church building. 3-4 hours a month.
Painter (or helper) - Provide painting skills to maintenance team. 1-2 hours a month.
Plumber (or helper) - Provide plumbing skills to maintenance team. 1-2 hours a month.
General Church Cleaning Volunteer - Provide cleaning skills to maintenance team. 4 hours a month.
Church Landscape Team Volunteer - Be part of the team that cares for the church grounds. 2 hours a month.
Fellowship
Adult-Only Event Planning Team Volunteer - Plan, organize and/or assist with adult-only events. 4-5 hours per event.
Coffee Fellowship Host - Set up coffee/tea and snacks after services. 1/2 hour a Sunday (rotating schedule).
Church Picnic Coordinator - Coordinate a church-wide picnic at a local park (e.g., Frying Pan Park). 2-3 hours planning and 4-5 hours the day of the event.
Church Picnic Volunteer - Help with the church picnic. 2 hours on the day of the event.
Family Event Planning Team Volunteer - Plan, organize and/or assist with 2-3 events for families. 2-3 hours planning and 4-5 hours the day of the event.
Friday Night Fellowship Dinners Volunteer - Help with food preparation, serving and cleaning up at bi-monthly Friday night dinners. 4-5 hours per dinner.
Hanging of the Greens Team Volunteer - Plan, organize and/or assist with this annual event that takes place the Sunday after Thanksgiving. 2-3 hours planning, 4-5 hours on the day of the event.
Hospitality Volunteer - Provide refreshments as needed for receptions. 1 hour, once per quarter.
Ice Cream Social Team Volunteer - Plan, organize and/or assist with the annual summertime ice cream social. 2-3 hours planning, 4-5 hours on the day of the event.
Kitchen Angel - Assist with organizing and maintaining the commercial kitchen and coffee pantry in the church building. 1-2 hours a month.
Set Up/Take Down Volunteer - Set up and take down furniture in the fellowship hall for events. 2-3 hours a month.
Small (Fellowship) Group Leader - Provide leadership to one of the fellowship small groups (e.g., sports teams, Parents of Young Children, MOPS, Motorcycle). 1-2 hours per month.
Sunday Night Desserts Volunteer - Help with food prep, serving and/or clean-up at Sunday night desserts. 2-3 hours per event.
Sunday Night Cookout Team Volunteer - Plan, organize and/or assist with summer cookouts. 4-6 hours per event.
Women-Only Event Planning Team Volunteer - Plan, organize and/or assist with fellowship events for women. 4-6 hours per event.
Latino Ministries
Bell Choir Member - Ring handbells at the 7 pm service on Saturdays. 1 rehearsal a week.
Bible School Teacher - Teach Saturday evening Bible classes to pre-school or school-age children. 1 and 1/2 hours per week on Saturday evenings.
Coffee Fellowship Volunteer - Put out coffee and snacks, welcome people after the service. 1 hour per week.
Musician - Participate in leading worship during the 7 pm service on Saturdays. 3-4 hours per week.
Presenter - Assist with computer slides for worship services. 2-3 hours a month.
Sound Volunteer - Assist with sound during worship services. 1 and 1/2 hours a month.
Usher/Greeter - Welcome and assit those attending worship. 1 hour a week.
Leadership
Administrative Committee Member - Serve on a committee such as Trustees , Staff Parish Relations or Finance. 2-4 hours per month.
Building Block Committee Member - Serve on a committee such as Fellowship, Outreach or Worship. 1-4 hours per month.
Music Ministry
Handbell Choir Member - Facilitate worship experience through ringing of handbells. 1 rehearsal a week, play 1 Sunday a month.
Chamber Choir Member - Facilitate worship experience through song. Geared toward experienced singers, looking for a challenge. 1 rehearsal a week, 1-2 services a month and at various events.
Children's Choir Accompanist - Accompany children's choir. 1 hour, once a week.
Children's Choir Helper - Help with administration and supervision. 1 hour, once a week.
Children's Handbell Choir Helper - Help with administration and supervision. 1 hour, once a week.
Floris Brass - Facilitate worship through brass music at selected services. As needed.
Floris Strings - Faciltate worship through chamber string music at selected services. 2 one-hour rehearsals a month, 1 service a month.
Music Librarian - File music. 2-4 hours a month.
Instrumentalist (Morning/Evening) - Play instrument for worship services. 2 hours.
Sanctuary Choir - Facilitate worship experience through song at 11:00 am services and special concerts. 1.5 hour rehearsal a week, 1 hour service.
Student Ensemble - Facilitate worship. This ensemble is for students, grades 7-12. 1 hour rehearsal a week, perform for selected services and events.
Sonrise Singer - Facilitate worship experience through song a 8:00 amservice. 2 rehearsals a month, 2 services a month.
Traveling Light - Lead instrumental music for Sunday School classes. First Sunday of every month.
Vocalist - Sing as solist or in ensemble for worship services. 2 hours.
Music Ministry Leadership - Provide leadership to music ministry. 2-3 hours a month.
