All God’s Children Camp

This summer, Floris is supporting All God’s Children Camp, a camping ministry for children (aged 7 – 11) of incarcerated mothers.   Our support will benefit the camp scheduled for August 2 – 7 at Camp Highroad in Middleburg, Va.   The week long camp provides these children with many activities such as swimming, hiking, archery, music, crafts and Bible study.     Since 1999, All God’s Children Camps have been providing children a week of sanctuary from the many challenges in their lives:  economic poverty, living without their mother, low self esteem, violence and drugs.   They need our help.

PRAYERS

First and foremost, the camp and the children need your prayers.  The statistics are alarming and show that these children are more likely than their peers to have behavioral issues, trouble in school and in some cases be incarcerated themselves.

MENTORS

Volunteers come from churches across the conference to spend a week at the camp to provide companionship and compassion to the children.    The number of children who can attend a camp is limited only by the number of adult volunteers.  Please contact Ann Davis, Director, Children’s Ministries/Discipleship at Virginia United Methodist Center at 800-768-6040 Ext. 138 if you would like more information on becoming a mentor.
