Meal Provider - Make and deliver a meal for an individual or family facing an emergency. 2-3 hours per meal.
Transportation - Provide transportation to/from doctor's appointments for an individual or family facing an emergency. 3-4 hours per trip
Funeral Helper - Assist with set-up and food for receptions after funerals. 3-4 hours per reception.
Respite Care Volunteer - Care for children with special needs, in the evening. 2-3 hours, once a quarter.
Altar Flower Delivery - Deliver flowers used during worship to an individual or family. 1-2 hours per delivery (rotating schedule).
Run Errands - Make a run to the grocery store, drug store for an individual or family facing an emergency. 2-3 hours per errand.
Light Home Repair and Yard Maintenance - Provide maintenance help when a Floris UMC congregant is temporarily unable to do so. 3-4 hours per job.
New Baby Ministry- Giving the baby a special gift, placing a baby rose on the altar and delivering the rose to the family. 1-2 hours per month.
Worship Transportation- Provide transportation to/from Church Sunday service for an individual or a family who can't come to the church otherwise.
Lost Sheep Ministry- Floris cares when someone has not being in worship for at least three weeks. A dedicated team of lay caregivers calls to let them know they have been missed and to make sure they are doing well.

Funeral Reception Coordinator - Assist the Funeral Coordinator to arrange a reception following funeral services at Floris UMC. (3-4 hours per reception).

Lead Support Groups - Provide leadership for groups that deal with some of life’s challenging issues such as: divorce, grief, etc.
Stephen Ministry - Provide ongoing Christian support to people in difficult times. (50 hrs required training provided).
Lay Counseling - Develop a relationship of support and encouragement based on an understanding of faith, life, and scriptures with individuals desiring support. This relationship follows the traditional counseling model. May also meet with groups to address emotional, behavioral, or spiritual challenges. An interview and training are required.
