A group for mothers of school-age kids
In the Fall of 2012, Floris UMC MOMSnext invites you to take the Plunge: Love as if your life depended on it. Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God's words; if help, let it be God's hearty help. That way, God's bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he'll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything.
At MOPS International we believe Better Moms Make a Better World. This is true during the preschool years and beyond. As mothers enter the school years, new challenges and issues arise, but the need for community remains. For this reason we offer MOMSnext, a ministry to mothers of school-age kids.
A MOMSnext group is an open, accepting place for all mothers of school-age kids to come, just as they are, to experience authentic community, personal growth, practical help and spiritual hope. MOMSnext will encourage, equip and develop moms in the next phase of mothering.
A mother’s influence is great during the school years. Join us in reaching more mothers with community and hope that is life-changing.
Floris MOMSnext meets 2 Monday evenings a month from 7-9pm September – May. We begin each meeting with fellowship and dinner, followed by a speaker or video and discussion time. MOMSnext is for moms with school-age children from K-6th grade. We will have limited childcare available in the nursery on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The registration fee for 2012-2013 is $75. Scholarships are available.
