What to Expect During Worship
First, we promise you won't be embarrassed or pressured to give money or to join the church, so relax and focus on experiencing worship.
We'll be singing songs to express our love for God, and the words will be on screens so you can sing along if you want to. Hymnals are available in the pews.
- You may also see Christian sacraments such as baptism or communion, and we'll be sure to explain what they mean so you won't feel left out.
One of our pastors will share a relevant message, often combined with thought-provoking multi-media elements, to enable you to discover new truths that help you see life from God's point of view. We encourage you to use your Bible or the pew Bible to follow along.
We'll be done in about an hour and 15 minutes so you'll be ready to go pick up your little ones, socialize in the Gathering Space, meet new friends for lunch, or just head home.
We offer Live Stream at our Sunday 9:15 and 11 a.m. services. So when you are unable to attend service at the church on Sunday morning you can watch a live worship service from your own electronic personal device. Access our Live Stream services.
Here at Floris UMC, we have a wide range of music to aid people in their worship experience. We offer traditional music at our 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. services, contemporary music at our 5 p.m. services and a blending of the two at our 9:15 a.m. services. We have many choirs, orchestras, handbell groups and more for those who want to share their musical talent with us. Those who volunteer come from a variety of musical backgrounds, but they all work very hard to make joyful noise and inspire others to do the same. For a list of our music groups, visit our Vocal Groups, our Instrumental Groups and our Full Circle Band pages. For more details or to find rehearsal times, check out our Upcoming Events.
We want all who attend our worship services to get the most out of their experiences. Because of this, we provide certain worship aids at some of our services. At our 9:15 a.m. service, we provide a sign language interpreter and translation devices for those who speak Spanish. We also have handicap accessible buses available during our 11 a.m. service, and we are equipped with hearing devices to be used upon request. For more information about these aids, click here.
