Who would have put money on Butler to compete for the men’s National Championship? And Notre Dame on the women’s side? A couple of pretty long shots.

Zacchaeus, the diminutive chief tax collector was an even longer shot. But in all of Jericho, Jesus chose him. “I’m gonna help that guy!” Pretty reckless, but something about Zacchaeus let Jesus know he was willing to change.

Okay – so he was willing to be a laughingstock by climbing a tree so he could see Jesus walk by. And he didn’t hesitate to have Jesus come to supper. Would I be so bold? Would I climb a tree and sit at Jesus’ table?

What “tree” in your life invites you to climb it to get a better view of Jesus?

How would you respond if Jesus invited himself to your place for dinner?
