Whether you paint\, sculpt\, photograph\, or create with fiber or mixed media\, the Floris Art Gallery invites you to be part of our next community exhibit. This upcoming show\, “Love Boldly\, Serve Joyfully\, Lead Courageously\,” will celebrate the ways our congregation and staff embody these core values through creativity and imagination. \nArt has always been a reflection of the divine spark within us—a way to communicate truth\, hope\, and beauty that words alone cannot express. At Floris\, we believe creativity is one of the many ways we live out our faith. This exhibit provides a space for artists within our church community to share their gifts and inspire others to see God’s presence in new and meaningful ways. \nWe welcome submissions from all mediums and experience levels. Whether you’re a lifelong artist or just beginning to explore your creative side\, your work can be a powerful expression of faith that moves and uplifts others. It can also surface stress\, complicated relationships\, and tough conversations around politics\, beliefs\, expectations\, and boundaries. If you are already feeling anxious about gathering with family\, you are not alone. \nGrace Under Pressure: Navigating Family Tensions During the Holidays is brought to you by the Spiritual Recovery Community at Floris UMC and is designed to help you enter the season grounded\, confident\, and prepared. Together we will explore tools for navigating family triggers\, responding with grace\, and shifting tense conversations into healthier connection. \nThrough guided conversation\, reflection\, and practical examples\, participants will learn strategies to: \n\nRecognize and interrupt emotional triggers\nDe-escalate difficult or political conversations\nSet compassionate boundaries\nRespond instead of react\nCare for yourself without withdrawing\nEnter gatherings with intention and peace\n\nWhether you are managing longstanding family patterns\, anxious about political differences\, or simply wanting to show up as your best self\, this evening will provide space\, support\, and wisdom you can use right away. \nRegistration\nRegistration is required and includes an optional donation for food\, which will be served during the workshop.
