If you’re a student in grades 6–12 with a passion for music\, dance\, or performance\, we invite you to share your talents in a supportive\, creative\, and faith-filled community. \nWhether you love to sing\, play an instrument\, dance\, perform as part of a band\, or showcase another musical talent\, Floris Youth Music Festival is a place where you can grow your skills\, express your creativity\, and encourage others through the performing arts. \nShare Your Gifts\nYouth Music Festival welcomes students with a variety of talents\, including: \n\nVocal performances\nInstrumental performances\nDance\nBands and small ensembles\nOther musical or performance talents\n\nNo matter your experience level\, this is an opportunity to develop your abilities while connecting with other students who share your passion for music and performance. \nPerform Throughout the Year\nParticipants will have the opportunity to perform in two Youth Music Festival concerts during the program year\, giving students the chance to share their talents with family\, friends\, and the church community while building confidence and performance experience. \nStudents will also have the opportunity to receive service hours for their participation. DESCRIPTION:GRACE Ministries of the United Methodist Church is a mission project that serves low-income families in our community. It shares the gospel of God’s love through food clothing seven United Methodist churches in Northern Virginia. GRACE Ministries also provides Personal Care Aide (PCA) training Multicultural Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training College Prep ESL classes for graduates of the CNA program These programs assist in easing emergency situations and create career opportunities in areas of significant workforce needs. DESCRIPTION:South Asian Worship & Fellowship\nSouth Asian Worship & Fellowship is a monthly gathering at Floris UMC that brings together families and individuals from India\, Pakistan\, and beyond for a time of worship\, fellowship\, and community. This group offers a welcoming space to celebrate culture\, faith\, and connection in a supportive church environment. \nEach month includes opportunities to build relationships\, share meaningful conversation\, and grow in faith together through worship\, prayer\, scripture\, and music. Blending United Methodist tradition with the vibrant expression of our diverse community\, this gathering creates space for both spiritual renewal and authentic connection. Whether you are new to the area\, exploring faith\, or looking for a community to call home\, you are warmly invited to participate and be part of this growing fellowship. \nFamilies will find this to be a meaningful space to introduce children to cultural traditions while also experiencing the joy of worship in a diverse and caring church family. This is more than a monthly program—it is a community rooted in belonging\, encouragement\, and shared faith. \nSpecial June Gathering – Offsite Picnic \nOn Saturday\, June 6\, the South Asian Worship & Fellowship group will meet off-site for a special family picnic at Lake Fairfax Park instead of their usual gathering at Floris UMC.
