SUMMARY:Art Gallery: Altered Perception by Linda Syverson Guild
DESCRIPTION:Altered Perception: By Linda Syverson Guild\nDiscover the art of seeing familiar materials in entirely new ways. \nFloris is pleased to welcome artist Linda Syverson Guild and her exhibition\, Altered Perception\, featuring a collection of quilt-inspired artwork that invites viewers to look beyond traditional expectations of textile art. \nThrough her creative approach to quilting\, Linda transforms fabric\, color\, pattern\, and texture into works of art that challenge the way we see and experience familiar materials. Her work encourages viewers to consider how individual elements come together to create something unexpected\, turning everyday textiles into expressions of creativity\, perspective\, and artistic exploration. \nQuilting has a rich tradition rooted in craftsmanship\, storytelling\, and the thoughtful arrangement of materials. In Altered Perception\, that tradition becomes an opportunity to explore new possibilities. By reimagining the relationship between fabric\, design\, and visual composition\, Linda invites viewers to look more closely at the details\, discover unexpected connections\, and appreciate the artistry found in each piece. \nAs you explore the exhibition\, take time to notice the interplay of colors\, shapes\, patterns\, and textures. Each work offers an opportunity to experience familiar materials from a different perspective and consider how a shift in perception can transform the ordinary into something extraordinary. \nAltered Perception is more than an exhibition of quilt work. It is an invitation to slow down\, embrace creativity\, and discover the artistic possibilities that emerge when we are willing to see things differently. \nWhether you appreciate textile arts\, enjoy exploring new forms of artistic expression\, or simply want to experience something inspiring\, Altered Perception offers a fresh perspective and an opportunity to engage with art in an unexpected way. \nCome experience Altered Perception by Linda Syverson Guild and discover how fabric\, imagination\, and artistic vision come together throughout the gallery. \nExplore the Floris Art Gallery to learn more about Altered Perception and the artists who have been featured in the gallery. \nVisit the Floris Art Gallery → \nLearn more about the artist: Visit Linda Syverson Guild’s website →

SUMMARY:Advent Giving Christmas Trees
DESCRIPTION:Advent Giving Christmas Trees: Bless Our Community This Season\nOrnament Pick-Up: November 8-29\nGift Return: December 6\nShare the love of Christ this Christmas through a simple act of generosity! \nThe Christmas season is a time for joy\, hope\, and giving. It’s also an opportunity to remind our neighbors that they are loved\, valued\, and never forgotten. This year\, you can help make Christmas a little brighter for individuals and families in our local community through our Advent Giving Christmas Tree! \nFrom November 8 through December 6\, 2026\, we invite you to visit the Giving Tree in the church building and choose an ornament (or two!) featuring a gift request from someone in need. Each ornament represents a real person in our community and an opportunity to share kindness in a meaningful\, tangible way. \nWhether you choose one gift or several\, your generosity can make a difference. A requested item may seem like a small gesture\, but for the person receiving it\, it can bring comfort\, encouragement\, and a powerful reminder that someone cares. By participating\, you’re helping ensure that more of our neighbors experience the warmth and joy of the Christmas season. \nHow to Participate\nGetting involved is easy! \n\nVisit the Giving Tree. Stop by the church building beginning November 8 and select an ornament with a gift request.\nPurchase the requested gift. Choose the item listed on your ornament and help make someone’s Christmas brighter.\nReturn your unwrapped gift. Bring your gift back to the church no later than December 6\, 2026. Please leave all gifts unwrapped so they can be properly organized and distributed.\n\nEvery gift is an opportunity to share hope\, spread joy\, and show love to someone who may need a little extra support this season. \nBe a Blessing This Christmas\nAs we journey through Advent and prepare our hearts for Christmas\, let’s remember that giving is one of the ways we put our faith into action. Through the Advent Giving Christmas Tree\, we can come together as a church family to care for our neighbors and reflect the love of Christ beyond the walls of our church. \nYou don’t have to do something extraordinary to make a difference. Sometimes\, a single gift is enough to remind someone that they matter. \nLet’s bless our community this season\, one gift at a time! \nFor more information about the Advent Giving Christmas Tree\, contact Debbie Cali.
