For this month’s artist\, that journey began with simple YouTube tutorials and a paintbrush. What started as a pastime soon transformed into a spiritual practice—a way of slowing down\, listening\, and becoming more aware of God’s presence in the quiet moments of each day. \nThough not formally trained\, the artist discovered that painting could be more than just creating images on canvas. Each brushstroke became both a prayer and a reflection\, offering gratitude for the gift of life. Through this practice\, a deeper way of seeing the world emerged—one that celebrates simplicity\, beauty\, and stillness. \nThe collection features scenes of nature—trees reaching toward the sky\, flowers bursting with color\, waterscapes reflecting peace\, and skies alive with light. These works are not simply depictions of creation but invitations to experience it anew. They remind us that God’s beauty is always present—in the ordinary\, in the quiet\, and in the wonder we often overlook. \nWhen you visit the Floris Art Gallery this month\, you’ll encounter more than artwork on the walls. DESCRIPTION:Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings at Floris UMC \n\nAlcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who come together to solve their drinking problem. It doesn’t cost anything to attend A.A. meetings. There are no age or education requirements to participate. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about their drinking problem. Anyone with a desire to stop drinking is welcome\, regardless of race\, gender\, sexual orientation\, religion\, income or profession. And it’s free. At meetings you can just sit and listen and learn more about recovery\, or you can share about your situation. It’s completely up to you. DESCRIPTION:Floris UMC Fall 2025 Immunization Clinic\nFloris UMC is committed to the health and well-being of our congregation and staff. This fall\, we are pleased to host a convenient immunization clinic designed to help protect our community against seasonal illnesses and ensure everyone has access to recommended vaccines. Whether you’re a member of our congregation or part of our staff\, we encourage you to take advantage of this important opportunity. \nOn Sunday\, September 21\, the clinic will be open for all members of the congregation\, providing a safe\, organized\, and accessible environment to receive immunizations. Staff members will have their dedicated clinic on Tuesday\, September 23\, with the same guidelines and procedures. \nWhat to bring: Please bring your insurance card(s) (medical and prescription\, Medicare\, Military ID/Tricare\, etc.) and wear clothing that allows easy access to the upper arm. Please note that Kaiser insurance cannot be accepted at this time. \nVaccine information: The clinic will provide seasonal vaccines\, and we are monitoring availability for the adult COVID-19 vaccine. If it is available and can be administered without a prescription\, it will be offered during the clinic. Our priority is to provide safe and timely care for all participants. \nTo participate\, registration is required. Sign up in advance using our secure registration link to reserve your spot and ensure a smooth check-in process. \nWe encourage everyone to take part in this important health initiative.
