DESCRIPTION:Backpack Blessing \nSunday\, August 16 | During Both Services\nStart the new school year with purpose\, prayer\, and encouragement at our annual Backpack Blessing! This special event is a meaningful way to recognize and support students as they prepare to head back to school\, reminding them that they are surrounded by a loving faith community every step of the way. \nAll children and youth are invited to bring their backpacks to worship on Sunday\, August 16\, during both services. During a special moment in the service\, we’ll offer a blessing over the students and their backpacks\, asking God to guide\, protect\, and encourage them throughout the school year. Each student will also receive a special tag to place on their backpack as a reminder that they are never alone on their journey. \nThis is a wonderful opportunity for families to begin the school year with a spirit of hope\, connection\, and encouragement. Whether your child is starting kindergarten\, heading into high school\, or somewhere in between\, we invite you to participate in this joyful and faith-filled tradition. \nLet’s send our students back to school surrounded by love and lifted in prayer!

DESCRIPTION:3rd Grade Bibles\nReceiving a Bible is an exciting milestone in a child’s faith journey\, and Floris is honored to celebrate this special moment with our families each year. \nAs children begin their third-grade school year\, Floris United Methodist Church provides each child with their very own Bible—a gift that will encourage them as they grow in their relationship with God and deepen their understanding of Scripture. Whether used during family devotions\, Sunday school\, or personal reading\, we hope this Bible becomes a treasured companion for years to come. \nIf your child is entering third grade\, we invite them to receive a Bible as part of this meaningful tradition. Children in fourth or fifth grade who did not receive a Bible during their third-grade year are also warmly invited to participate. \nParents and guardians are asked to complete the registration form below so we can prepare a Bible for each child. If you are registering more than one child\, simply select “Add Another Child” to include each additional participant. \nReady to register? Complete the registration form here:\nRegister for the 3rd Grade Bible Distribution \nWe look forward to celebrating this important step in your child’s faith journey and equipping them with God’s Word as they continue to learn\, grow\, and discover His love. \nWhat to Expect on August 30\nThird graders and their families are invited to a special reception from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Enjoy light refreshments\, family fellowship\, and a special photo backdrop as we celebrate this meaningful milestone. \nDuring both the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. worship services\, third graders will sit with their families or in front of the choir. Each child’s name will be announced\, and they will be invited forward to receive their Bible. \nWe look forward to celebrating this important step in your child’s faith journey and equipping them with God’s Word as they continue to learn\, grow\, and discover His love.
