DESCRIPTION:Floris Feeds the World with Rise Against Hunger\nRegister Now >\nSunday\, March 8 \nJoin us for a powerful day of service and worship as Floris UMC partners once again with Rise Against Hunger to help feed families around the world. This meaningful event brings our congregation together to make a tangible difference—packing meals that will support communities facing food insecurity both locally and globally. \nWhether you are new to this event or returning to serve again\, this is an opportunity to live out your faith in action. Every meal packed represents hope\, dignity\, and care for someone in need. \n\nWhat to Expect\nThroughout the morning and early afternoon\, volunteers will gather in high-energy packing sessions to assemble nutritious meals. Each session is family-friendly and designed for all ages to participate. You’ll work side by side with others in a spirit of joy\, teamwork\, and shared purpose. \nBetween packing sessions\, we will pause to worship together—celebrating the impact of our service and grounding our work in gratitude and prayer. \n\nPacking & Worship Schedule\nSession 1: 7:30–8:45 a.m.Worship: 9:00 a.m. \nSession 2: 10:00–11:00 a.m. (Childcare is available in the nursery for children 4 & under)Worship: 11:00 a.m. \nSession 3: 12:15–1:15 p.m. (Childcare is available in the nursery for children 4 & under) \nYou may participate in a packing session\, attend worship\, or join us for both. DESCRIPTION:Western North Carolina Mission Trip \nFor over two decades\, Floris United Methodist Church has been answering the call to serve communities impacted by natural disasters. From hurricanes and flooding to tornadoes\, our mission teams have brought hope and help to areas across the country. Now\, we invite you to be part of our next journey—our Western North Carolina Mission Trip. \nFloris UMC has sent more than 60 teams to disaster-stricken areas in states like Mississippi\, Florida\, South Carolina\, North Carolina\, Kentucky\, New Jersey\, and New York. Over 600 volunteers have rolled up their sleeves\, built homes\, cleared debris\, and most importantly\, offered compassion to those in need. This work continues as long as there are communities in need of recovery. \nOur next UMVIM Team to Western North Carolina is March 22–27. Would you be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ for the thousands of folks displaced by the remnants of Hurricane Helene? Whether you are skilled in construction or have little or no experience\, your willingness to help will make a great difference. \nAll missioners must be 18+ or 16–18 if accompanied by a parent or designated chaperone\, and there’s no upper age limit—just bring your heart and hands ready to serve! From teens to retirees\, our teams are made up of people who simply want to make a tangible impact in the lives of others. \nJoin us as we continue this important work.
