As a new school year begins\, we want to pause and lift up every teacher\, Sunday School leader\, school staff member\, and educator in our community. \nJoin us on Sunday\, August 10\, for a special Teacher Blessing during our service. Together\, we will pray for our teachers — for wisdom\, patience\, creativity\, and strength — as they step into classrooms\, hallways\, offices\, and playgrounds ready to make a difference. \nWhether you teach in a public school\, private school\, homeschool\, or lead one of our Sunday School classes\, we want you to know you are seen\, valued\, and supported. During the blessing\, each teacher and school staff member will receive a small gift as a token of our gratitude and a reminder that your church family is cheering you on throughout the year. \nWe invite every teacher to come and stand with us that Sunday — and if you know a teacher\, please invite them to attend. Each student will also receive a special tag to place on their backpack as a reminder that they are never alone on their journey.\nIn addition to the blessing\, we’ll be presenting Bibles to all rising 3rd graders\, marking an important milestone in their faith journey. These Bibles are a gift from the church\, meant to help them grow in their understanding of God’s word and develop a lifelong relationship with scripture. Families of 3rd graders will be contacted ahead of time with more details.\nThis is a wonderful opportunity for families to begin the school year with a spirit of hope\, connection\, and encouragement. DESCRIPTION:Join the Music Ministry Kick-Off at Floris UMC! \n\n\nThis fall\, we’re excited to launch another inspiring season of music at Floris United Methodist Church! Whether you love to sing\, play an instrument\, or simply enjoy the fellowship of making music together\, there’s a place for you in our music ministry. From children to adults\, beginners to experienced musicians\, our choirs and ensembles are open to all who want to share the gift of music in worship and community. \n\n\nHere’s what’s coming up this September as we kick off the season: \n\n\nWednesday\, September 3 at 7:30 PM – Sanctuary Choir\nJoin our dynamic adult choir that leads worship weekly with beautiful choral anthems. No audition required—just a love for singing!\nSunday\, September 7 at 9:30 AM – Floris Wind Ensemble\nIf you play a band or orchestral instrument\, this is your opportunity to add joy and energy to our worship services.\nSunday\, September 7 at 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM – Handbell Choirs (Laudate & Jubilate Ringers)\nExperience the unique beauty of ringing handbells. Both new and seasoned ringers are welcome!\nSunday\, September 21 from 10:15–10:45 AM – Children’s Choirs (Little Praisers & Hallelujah Choir)\nOur youngest musicians are invited to lift their voices in song\, learn about worship\, and build friendships.\nSunday\, September 28 at 12:15 PM – Christmas Cantata Choir\nLove Christmas music? Be part of our special Cantata Choir for the holiday season! This short-term choir is perfect for those who can’t commit year-round but want to sing for one of our most beloved services.\n\nReady to join? Registration is now open!\nPlease register here to let us know which choir or ensemble you’d like to participate in. Registering helps us prepare music\, organize rehearsal spaces\, and warmly welcome you into the group.\nCome and be part of something greater than yourself—where voices and instruments join together in praise\, worship\, and joy.
