DESCRIPTION:Western North Carolina Mission Trip \nFor over two decades\, Floris United Methodist Church has been answering the call to serve communities impacted by natural disasters. From hurricanes and flooding to tornadoes\, our mission teams have brought hope and help to areas across the country. Now\, we invite you to be part of our next journey—our Western North Carolina Mission Trip. \nFloris UMC has sent more than 60 teams to disaster-stricken areas in states like Mississippi\, Florida\, South Carolina\, North Carolina\, Kentucky\, New Jersey\, and New York. Over 600 volunteers have rolled up their sleeves\, built homes\, cleared debris\, and most importantly\, offered compassion to those in need. This work continues as long as there are communities in need of recovery. \nOur next UMVIM Team to Western North Carolina is July 12–17. Would you be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ for the thousands of folks displaced by the remnants of Hurricane Helene? Whether you are skilled in construction or have little or no experience\, your willingness to help will make a great difference. \nAll missioners must be 18+ or 16–18 if accompanied by a parent or designated chaperone\, and there’s no upper age limit—just bring your heart and hands ready to serve! It shares the gospel of God’s love through food clothing seven United Methodist churches in Northern Virginia. Blending United Methodist tradition with the vibrant expression of our diverse community\, this gathering creates space for both spiritual renewal and authentic connection. Whether you are new to the area\, exploring faith\, or looking for a community to call home\, you are warmly invited to participate and be part of this growing fellowship. \nFamilies will find this to be a meaningful space to introduce children to cultural traditions while also experiencing the joy of worship in a diverse and caring church family.
