DESCRIPTION:Western North Carolina Mission Trip \nFor over two decades\, Floris United Methodist Church has been answering the call to serve communities impacted by natural disasters. From hurricanes and flooding to tornadoes\, our mission teams have brought hope and help to areas across the country. Now\, we invite you to be part of our next journey—our Western North Carolina Mission Trip. \nFloris UMC has sent more than 60 teams to disaster-stricken areas in states like Mississippi\, Florida\, South Carolina\, North Carolina\, Kentucky\, New Jersey\, and New York. Over 600 volunteers have rolled up their sleeves\, built homes\, cleared debris\, and most importantly\, offered compassion to those in need. This work continues as long as there are communities in need of recovery. \nOur next UMVIM Team to Western North Carolina is July 12–17. Would you be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ for the thousands of folks displaced by the remnants of Hurricane Helene? Whether you are skilled in construction or have little or no experience\, your willingness to help will make a great difference. \nAll missioners must be 18+ or 16–18 if accompanied by a parent or designated chaperone\, and there’s no upper age limit—just bring your heart and hands ready to serve! From teens to retirees\, our teams are made up of people who simply want to make a tangible impact in the lives of others. \nJoin us as we continue this important work. We’d love for you to join members of Floris United Methodist Church for an informal community night out at Friday Night Live\, a local outdoor concert series featuring live music\, great energy\, and an all-ages crowd. \nWe’re excited to share that Floris is one of the sponsors of Friday Night Live this year! \n\nJune 12th – Gonzo’s Nose\nAugust 14th – Screaming Monkeys \n\nAdmission is free\, and it’s the perfect opportunity to relax\, enjoy the music\, and connect with others in a casual\, open-air setting. Whether you’ve been part of Floris for years or just started attending\, this is a great way to meet new people and build relationships—no pressure\, no agenda\, just a good time with good company. \nWe’ll be meeting on the grassy hill area at 5:45 p.m.—look for our group when you arrive! Bring a blanket or lawn chair so you can settle in comfortably. You’re welcome to sit with us or find your own spot nearby—whatever makes you feel most at ease. \nSpecial perk: The first 25 people who join the Floris group will receive a free ticket to use toward concessions! \nThere’s no need to RSVP\, but it is helpful if you do so we can share any important updates ahead of time.
