Students entering grades 6–12 are invited to join Floris Student Ministries for an exciting day at the Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole at Lake Fairfax on Wednesday\, August 12\, from 10:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. \nThis is a great opportunity for students to cool off\, spend time with friends\, and enjoy a day of fellowship before summer comes to an end. Whether you are a regular part of Student Ministries or joining us for the first time\, everyone is welcome! \nThe cost is $13.50 per student and includes admission to the water park. Students should bring a swimsuit\, towel\, and a bag lunch or money for concessions. Floris will provide additional snacks and drinks throughout the day. \nTransportation Options\nStudents have two options for joining us: \n\nRide the church bus: Meet us at the Floris UMC upper parking lot at 10:30 a.m. for transportation to the water park.\nMeet us at the park: Families may bring students directly to the Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole at Lake Fairfax\, where we will meet at 11:00 a.m.\n\nWe will leave the park at 4:30 p.m. and return to Floris UMC by approximately 5:00 p.m. \nRegistration Information\nPlease register early to help us plan for transportation\, snacks\, and activities. During a special moment in the service\, we’ll offer a blessing over the students and their backpacks\, asking God to guide\, protect\, and encourage them throughout the school year. Each student will also receive a special tag to place on their backpack as a reminder that they are never alone on their journey. \nThis is a wonderful opportunity for families to begin the school year with a spirit of hope\, connection\, and encouragement. Each student will also receive a special tag to place on their backpack as a reminder that they are never alone on their journey. \nThis is a wonderful opportunity for families to begin the school year with a spirit of hope\, connection\, and encouragement. These gatherings are energetic\, meaningful\, and an excellent way to serve alongside others who are passionate about loving our neighbors. \nHHK Packaging Events are simple\, high-impact service opportunities suitable for individuals\, families\, students\, and anyone with a heart to help. Volunteers will work together to sort\, prepare\, and package items that will be distributed through our community partnerships. Every bag packed makes an immediate difference for a local child. \nNo Registration Required\nThis is a drop-in service opportunity. Simply show up\, check in with our volunteer leads\, and jump into the packaging stations. Our Help Hungry Kids (HHK) ministry assembles care packages filled with essential items for students experiencing food insecurity and other challenges. These gatherings are energetic\, meaningful\, and an excellent way to serve alongside others who are passionate about loving our neighbors. \nHHK Packaging Events are simple\, high-impact service opportunities suitable for individuals\, families\, students\, and anyone with a heart to help. Volunteers will work together to sort\, prepare\, and package items that will be distributed through our community partnerships. Every bag packed makes an immediate difference for a local child. \nNo Registration Required\nThis is a drop-in service opportunity. Simply show up\, check in with our volunteer leads\, and jump into the packaging stations. No prior experience is needed\, and all supplies will be provided. \nWhy It Matters\nFood insecurity and limited access to essential supplies affect children right here in our community. Whether used during family devotions\, Sunday school\, or personal reading\, we hope this Bible becomes a treasured companion for years to come. \nIf your child is entering third grade\, we invite them to receive a Bible as part of this meaningful tradition. Children in fourth or fifth grade who did not receive a Bible during their third-grade year are also warmly invited to participate. \nParents and guardians are asked to complete the registration form below so we can prepare a Bible for each child.
