For this month’s artist\, that journey began with simple YouTube tutorials and a paintbrush. What started as a pastime soon transformed into a spiritual practice—a way of slowing down\, listening\, and becoming more aware of God’s presence in the quiet moments of each day. \nThough not formally trained\, the artist discovered that painting could be more than just creating images on canvas. Each brushstroke became both a prayer and a reflection\, offering gratitude for the gift of life. Through this practice\, a deeper way of seeing the world emerged—one that celebrates simplicity\, beauty\, and stillness. \nThe collection features scenes of nature—trees reaching toward the sky\, flowers bursting with color\, waterscapes reflecting peace\, and skies alive with light. These works are not simply depictions of creation but invitations to experience it anew. Whether you’re a member of our congregation or part of our staff\, we encourage you to take advantage of this important opportunity. \nOn Sunday\, September 21\, the clinic will be open for all members of the congregation\, providing a safe\, organized\, and accessible environment to receive immunizations. Staff members will have their dedicated clinic on Tuesday\, September 23\, with the same guidelines and procedures. \nWhat to bring: Please bring your insurance card(s) (medical and prescription\, Medicare\, Military ID/Tricare\, etc.) and wear clothing that allows easy access to the upper arm. Please note that Kaiser insurance cannot be accepted at this time. \nVaccine information: The clinic will provide seasonal vaccines\, and we are monitoring availability for the adult COVID-19 vaccine. If it is available and can be administered without a prescription\, it will be offered during the clinic. Our priority is to provide safe and timely care for all participants. \nTo participate\, registration is required. Each hike is designed not only to get us moving outdoors\, but also to nourish our spirits through reflection\, prayer\, and community. \nEach month\, we meet at a local park for a short and accessible hike (about 1.5 miles)\, perfect for beginners or anyone who wants a relaxed outdoor activity. But Hiking for the Soul is more than exercise. It is a space to slow down\, notice the beauty around us\, and connect with God in meaningful ways. \nWe begin with a short reading or meditation to open our hearts to God’s presence in nature. Midway through the hike\, we pause for a simple grounding exercise that helps us center ourselves and fully embrace the moment. \nAfter the trail\, there is time for fellowship and sharing.
