SUMMARY:Andrea Finch - What the Bees See
DESCRIPTION:Experience Art that Reveals Creation Through the Eyes of Bees\nThe Floris Art Gallery invites you to experience this month’s featured installation—What the Bees See—a vibrant and immersive exploration of the natural world through the perspective of bees. \nThis striking exhibit offers a fresh way of seeing creation\, drawing attention to the beauty\, complexity\, and quiet wonder found in flowers\, movement\, light\, and the delicate ecosystems that sustain life. Inspired by the unique vision and role of pollinators\, the installation encourages viewers to slow down and notice what is often overlooked in the world around us. \nThrough color\, texture\, and layered artistic expression\, the work reflects the rhythm of nature itself—how bees move with purpose\, gather with intention\, and participate in a cycle of growth and renewal that sustains the earth. Each piece becomes an invitation not only to observe\, but to reflect on the interconnectedness of creation and our place within it. \nAs you move through the gallery\, you’ll encounter a space designed for contemplation and curiosity. The installation invites you to engage your senses and consider how beauty is often revealed in the smallest details—in the patterns of petals\, the movement of wings\, and the quiet harmony of living systems working together. \nMore than an art display\, this exhibit is an experience of attention and awareness. Whether you are an art enthusiast\, a nature lover\, or simply seeking a moment of peace and inspiration\, What the Bees See offers a space to pause\, reflect\, and reconnect with the world in a meaningful way. \nWhen you visit the Floris Art Gallery this month\, you are invited into a moment of wonder—where creativity opens new ways of seeing and where the natural world becomes a source of reflection\, gratitude\, and awe. \nCome and experience art that draws you closer to creation\, to community\, and to the beauty that surrounds us every day. \nLearn more about this month’s exhibition and explore past featured exhibits on our Art Gallery page. \nThe Floris Art Gallery also welcomes artists in our community to share their gifts. If you are interested in submitting your own work for consideration\, we invite you to apply to exhibit with us. \nCome and experience art that draws you closer to God\, to creation\, and to community.

SUMMARY:Pastor Drew's Book Club
DESCRIPTION:Pastor Drew’s Book Club: Unapologetic\nWednesdays | 7:00–8:30 PM\nAugust 19\, August 26 & September 2\nFloris United Methodist Church \nHave you ever struggled to explain why your faith still matters in today’s world? Or wondered how to talk about Christianity in a way that is honest\, thoughtful\, and grounded in real life? Join Pastor Drew for a three-week book club as we read and discuss Unapologetic: Why\, Despite Everything\, Christianity Can Still Make Surprising Emotional Sense by Francis Spufford. \nRather than offering a traditional defense of Christianity\, Spufford shares a heartfelt and refreshingly honest account of what it means to follow Christ in a world where faith is often misunderstood or dismissed. With his signature wit\, insightful storytelling\, and engaging writing style\, he explores the emotional and spiritual realities of Christian belief\, acknowledging both the beauty and the challenges of living a life of faith. His approach is thoughtful\, authentic\, and often humorous\, making this an engaging read for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of Christianity. \nWhether you’ve been a Christian for many years\, are exploring faith for the first time\, or simply enjoy meaningful conversations about life and belief\, this book club offers a welcoming space to read\, reflect\, and learn together. Pastor Drew will guide each week’s discussion\, creating opportunities to explore the book’s themes\, ask questions\, share perspectives\, and encourage one another in faith. \nThis three-week series is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others\, deepen your understanding of the Christian faith\, and engage with a thought-provoking book in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We encourage participants to attend all three sessions to get the most out of the discussion\, but you’re welcome to join us even if you can’t make every week. \nRegistration is encouraged so we can plan accordingly. Reserve your spot using the registration link and join us as we journey through Unapologetic together. \nRegister Here \nWe look forward to seeing you on Wednesday evenings from 7:00–8:30 PM at Floris United Methodist Church!
