Sunday Morning Kid Nation
Kid Nation, Floris UMC’s Sunday morning ministry for preschool-grade 5, is offered during the 9:15 and 11 a.m. services. Kid Nation partners with parents to help kids develop a faith in Jesus Christ that lasts a lifetime. Kid Nation provides relevant teaching that is scriptural and that kids can apply to their everyday lives. We are committed to helping children develop relationships with their peers, leaders and, most importantly, a personal relationship with Jesus.
Summer Kid Nation is where kids want to be on Sunday mornings!
Our 2019 Summer theme is: Toys & The Bible!
We will enjoy play based lessons and learn how different toys relate to Bible principles, Christian values, and following Jesus!

Our Kid Nation program is a huge success because of our amazing volunteers. Learn more about our volunteer opportunities and see how you can serve with us. Serving in Kid Nation is a great way for you to become involved in a dynamic community of Floris UMC staff members, parents, and other volunteers.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I check my child in?
We have an electronic check-in system that supports the safety of our children and makes it easier than ever for the families. Children in preschool-grade 5 can be checked in at our welcome stations on the first or second floors. Nametags are printed for children and a pick-up tag is printed for parents. You must bring your pick-up tag to pick up your children (we recommend you wear it to avoid losing it). Replacement pick-up tags can only be issued at the Welcome Station on the second floor. Please be prepared to show a photo ID if you have lost or misplaced your pick-up tag.
What if my child needs me during the service?
If your child is in our Sunday morning program, we will notify an usher who will pass your name to the pastor and an announcement will be made.
Who will be teaching my child?
All of our teachers are carefully screened volunteers who have been trained in our Child and Student Safety Policy and have completed a recent Background Investigation. Volunteers have a genuine desire to share Christ with your children in a friendly environment. During the summer months, staff members teach and lead all activities with the help of our parent/volunteer chaperones.
What will they be doing?
We strive to provide a place where children will receive inspiration as they learn and grow. Kid Nation partners with parents to help kids develop a faith in Jesus Christ that lasts a lifetime. Children learn about God through music, interactive learning, Bible lessons, service and prayer.
What if my child has special needs?
All children are invited to join us for our Sunday morning programs. We provide a Buddy program for children with special learning needs who benefit from individualized support. Through our Buddy program, children are matched with a volunteer buddy to assure appropriate supports and assistance so that they can participate fully and successfully in classes with their same-aged peers. Please contact Karen Berlin to receive more information on our Buddy Ministry.
