Afghan Evacuee Support

Floris UMC/Restoration wants to welcome and support Afghan evacuees who have arrived in Virginia. The situation is evolving, but we now have two ways to support individuals and families:

  • Support through trusted community organizations
  • Donations to organizations working with those at the Dulles Expo Center

October 28 – We are no longer collecting items for Welcome Home Gift Boxes for Afghan evacuees. Thank you so much for the incredible generosity shown to our new neighbors!

Continue to check back for updates on how to support Afghan evacuees.

Through LSSNCA, we hope to provide volunteers that will

  • Transport families from Fort Lee to temporary housing the DMV area
  • Collect items for Welcome Home Gift Boxes for newly arrived families
  • Create on-call teams to set up apartments for families receiving their SIV status
