SUMMARY:Interfaith Thanksgiving
DESCRIPTION:Reston/Herndon Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service\nCome together in gratitude\, celebrate our shared humanity\, and give thanks alongside neighbors from diverse faith traditions. \nThanksgiving offers an opportunity to reflect on life’s blessings\, appreciate the people who enrich our lives\, and recognize the values that unite us. The Reston/Herndon Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service invites the community to celebrate this spirit of gratitude with neighbors from Christian\, Jewish\, Muslim\, and other faith traditions. \nJoin us on Tuesday\, November 24\, 2026\, for an evening of reflection\, prayer\, music\, and fellowship as local clergy and congregations come together to give thanks. Hosted at United Christian Parish in Reston\, this annual gathering creates space for people of different religious backgrounds to share their traditions\, learn from one another\, and celebrate the connections that strengthen our community. \nCelebrating Gratitude Across Faith Traditions\nAlthough Thanksgiving is a secular holiday\, its themes of gratitude\, generosity\, peace\, and community resonate across many religious traditions. The interfaith service provides an opportunity to explore these shared values while honoring the distinct beliefs and practices that make our community diverse. \nThrough prayers\, music\, and reflections of thanksgiving\, participants can express gratitude for life’s blessings\, the abundance of the earth\, the freedom to worship\, and the relationships that bring meaning to our lives. The gathering also encourages us to look beyond our individual experiences and consider how we can extend kindness\, understanding\, and compassion to others. \nJewish teachings remind us of the inherent dignity of every human being and the importance of pursuing peace with all people. Similar commitments to compassion\, service\, and goodwill can be found across faith communities. By coming together in a spirit of mutual respect\, we can celebrate these shared commitments while building stronger relationships with our neighbors. \nBuilding a More Connected Community\nInterfaith gatherings remind us that meaningful connections can grow when we take time to listen\, share our experiences\, and learn about the traditions of others. Whether you attend regularly or are joining for the first time\, this service offers an opportunity to connect with people from across the Reston and Herndon communities in a welcoming atmosphere of gratitude and fellowship. \nAs we prepare for Thanksgiving\, let us reflect not only on what we have received but also on how we can contribute to a more compassionate\, peaceful\, and inclusive community. \nCome share in an evening of gratitude and celebration as we honor our diverse faith traditions and the common bonds that bring us together. \nEvent Details\nDate: Tuesday\, November 24\, 2026\nLocation: United Christian Parish\nAddress: 11508 North Shore Drive\, Reston\, VA 20190 \nFor more information about the gathering\, visit United Christian Parish. \nAll are invited to join in this celebration of gratitude\, understanding\, and community.
