About Pride Alliance
The Pride Alliance is a welcoming community committed to creating an inclusive and affirming environment for all—regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
We work to support meaningful change both within our church and the wider United Methodist denomination. Our team offers thoughtful recommendations to the Floris UMC Church Council and helps carry out approved actions that reflect our values of love, justice, and equality.
The Pride Alliance also actively engages in efforts to remove discriminatory language and policies affecting LGBTQ+ individuals in the United Methodist Church.
Most importantly, we’re here to offer support, love, and healing to anyone seeking acceptance and belonging.

World Pride Parade in DC!
Saturday, June 7, 2025 | 2pm
On Saturday, June 7, people from around the world will gather in Washington, DC, to celebrate love, equality, and pride at the World Pride Parade—and Floris UMC will be there! A group of United Methodist lay persons, clergy, and church affiliates from across the DMV are coming together to march in unity.

What are your values?
In accomplishing its vision, Pride Alliance adheres to the following values:
Inclusion – We offer opportunities to those who identify as LGBTQ+ to participate in all activities in the life of the church.
Respect – We promote self-determination and equality to LGBTQ+ people, their families and allies.
Safety – We are a safe church and community. The mental, physical and spiritual safety of our church family and guests is considered paramount. Staff and volunteers are carefully vetted and trained to assist and support people of all orientations and identities.
Community – We welcome and offer friendship to everyone. We provide a place where you can get to know other LGBTQ+ Christians and their allies.
How can I get involved?
Come as you are, who you are, who you love. All are welcome. Worship is expressed in many different ways.
We encourage participation and involvement in all areas of the church. There are many volunteer opportunities in worship, grow and serve ministries.
