Artist Reception: Through the Lens: Love, Serve, Lead by Alexis Doty

Join us for a special Artist Reception honoring Alexis Doty, Floris UMC’s photographer and videographer, whose work has helped shape how our community’s story is seen and remembered.

Alexis is a DMV native, born and raised in Maryland, with a lifelong passion for visual storytelling. She began working with video production in high school and has continued to grow that passion into meaningful, purpose-driven work. Today, she is the founder of two Herndon-based production companies, F22 Video Solutions and Memory Lane Productions, where she helps individuals and families preserve their stories and legacies in their own words.

At Floris UMC, Alexis brings a deeply personal and thoughtful approach to photography and videography. Her work focuses on authenticity over perfection, capturing moments that often go unnoticed, including acts of service, quiet leadership, shared joy, and genuine connection. Through her lens, we see how faith is lived out through love in action.

Alexis’s creativity is deeply connected to community. She supports several local nonprofits through their annual fundraisers, assists with the NJROTC boosters at Herndon High School, and balances her creative work with family life alongside her high school sweetheart and their children.

This artist reception offers a unique opportunity to connect with Alexis beyond the gallery walls. In addition to the exhibited work, Alexis will be sharing bonus pieces exclusively during the reception, offering guests a deeper look into her creative process and storytelling approach.
