Backpack Blessing & 3rd Grade Bibles

Start the new school year with purpose, prayer, and encouragement at our annual Backpack Blessing and 3rd Grade Bible Presentation! This special event is a meaningful way to recognize and support students as they prepare to head back to school, reminding them that they are surrounded by a loving faith community every step of the way.

All children and youth are invited to bring their backpacks to worship on Sunday, August 17, during both services. During a special moment in the service, we’ll offer a blessing over the students and their backpacks, asking God to guide, protect, and encourage them throughout the school year. Each student will also receive a special tag to place on their backpack as a reminder that they are never alone on their journey.

In addition to the blessing, we’ll be presenting Bibles to all rising 3rd graders, marking an important milestone in their faith journey. These Bibles are a gift from the church, meant to help them grow in their understanding of God’s word and develop a lifelong relationship with scripture. Families of 3rd graders will be contacted ahead of time with more details.

This is a wonderful opportunity for families to begin the school year with a spirit of hope, connection, and encouragement. Whether your child is starting kindergarten, heading into high school, or somewhere in between, we invite you to participate in this joyful and faith-filled tradition.
