Why This Matters

Your donations will supply food to our neighbors through our Grace Ministries food distribution and a pop-up food distribution at Hutchison Elementary School. We also support Community of Faith UMC’s food pantry and the Cornerstones Food hub.

This initiative is a simple but meaningful way we can step in and help meet a practical need.

What We’re Collecting

In response to the rise in food insecurity, from February 22 through April 5, Floris UMC will host a food drive to run the next several weeks Nov 16-Dec 14. Our goal is to get 100 of each item to use for a pop up food distribution at Hutchison ES .  Below is our preferred list of items.

Shopping List

  • Bag of Rice 1lb up to 5lb Bags
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly
  • 5lb Bag of MASA
  • Spaghetti 1lb
  • Spaghetti Sauce Jars
  • Canned Vegetables/Beans
  • Canned Fruit
  • Canned Chicken/Tuna
  • 24oz Cooking Oil

There will be blue bins available to collect these items in the gathering space Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 4:00pm and Sunday 7:00am – 1:00pm/

  • Stock pantry shelves for foster families
  • Reduce grocery expenses for caregivers
  • Support teens aging out of foster care
  • Ensure reliable, nutritious meals are available

How to Participate

Bring your canned goods to the designated collection area anytime between February 22 and April 5, 2026.

Consider setting a reminder, inviting your family to contribute, or organizing a small group effort to maximize your impact.
