Pride Alliance at Floris UMC
The Pride Alliance at Floris UMC is a vibrant, welcoming community dedicated to fostering an inclusive and affirming environments for all individuals—regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. We believe that every person is a beloved child of God, deserving of respect, love, and belonging.
Our mission is to create meaningful change both within our church and across the broader United Methodist denomination. We work closely with the Floris UMC Church Council to offer thoughtful recommendations and to help carry out approved actions that reflect our core values of love, justice, and equality. From advocating for inclusive language and policies to supporting initiatives that remove discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals, our efforts are rooted in faith and guided by the desire to see every person welcomed fully into the life of the church.
The Pride Alliance also serves as a restoration ministry, intentionally engaging in conversations and actions that address inequities and challenge barriers faced by LGBTQ+ members in the church. Our work is both practical and spiritual: we advocate for systemic change while nurturing a safe, supportive space for individuals to grow in their faith.
