Social Justice Interest Meeting

Join the Conversation: Social Justice Interest Meeting at Floris
Floris UMC invites you to be part of an important conversation about living out our faith through social justice. On Sunday, September 14th, we will gather for two opportunities—one in-person and one virtual—to share a light meal, connect with one another, and explore ways we can make a meaningful difference in our church and community.
During this gathering, we will discuss possible social justice initiatives for the upcoming season. Current areas under consideration include:
- UMC Social Principles Small Group Study – Exploring our denomination’s guidance on living faithfully in the world.
- Racial Justice – Engaging in conversations and actions that promote equity and reconciliation.
- LGBTQIA+ Inclusion (Pride Alliance) – Supporting a fully inclusive church that celebrates all people.
- Environmental Justice – Caring for God’s creation through sustainable practices and advocacy.
- Immigration Rights – Standing alongside immigrants and refugees in our community.
Want to learn more about these initiatives? Visit our Social Justice page for detailed descriptions and ways to get involved.
Your voice in this discussion is essential—this is a collaborative process where your experiences, passions, and ideas will help shape our shared path forward.
