Spray clothes with permethrin? Check! (Emily Lopynski prepares for Sierra Leone)

Sunscreen? Check. Anti-malarial medicine? Check. Comfortable shoes? Check. Lowest-maintenance self? Getting kicked into gear. With our two-week adventure coming up quickly, I cannot be more excited to experience one of the most life-changing and eye-opening journeys of my life. This is going to be the first time out of the country for me and I couldn’t be more thrilled to go on the trip with some of the most generous and caring people I know. The team is getting busy soaking our clothes to prevent mosquitoes, gathering equipment for our projects and memorizing the names that match the precious faces of the CRC children. The May 2013 team is departing in just a few short days and the excitement is building. We will be departing Sunday, May 26 at 5:10 p.m. with our send-off from Floris UMC earlier that day at 1 p.m. Saturday morning we will be meeting at the church to go over last minute things as well as weigh our bags to make sure they do not exceed the weight limit. With our bags packed and smiles on we will be ready to go. Keep the team and me in your prayers, and the next post will be from Bo!

Blessings,

Allie Broadus
