At Messy Church, faith comes alive through interactive activities, music, and crafts. This session, we’ll focus on the Parable of the Sower, exploring how faith can grow when it is nurtured in our hearts and in our communities. Families will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning and participate in meaningful conversations about God’s love.

A highlight of the evening is a flowerpot craft that each family can take home. This activity allows children and adults alike to plant seeds, decorate their pots, and watch their faith and creativity grow over time. It’s a memorable keepsake and a fun way to reinforce the lessons of the evening.

Bright Life Mission Trip: Appalachia Service Project
June 28 – July 4, 2026

Spend a week making a real difference with the Bright Life Mission Trip to Appalachia. This summer, join a team of volunteers from our church as we travel to the Appalachian region to serve families, support communities, and experience life beyond our everyday routines.

A Week of Service

During the trip, participants will take part in hands-on projects that include:

  • Home repairs and maintenance
  • Community improvement efforts
  • Supporting families and neighborhoods in need
  • Serving alongside local ministries

Each project is designed to meet real needs in the community while giving participants a chance to see the impact of their work firsthand.

Growth and Connection

The Bright Life Mission Trip is more than service. It is an opportunity to connect with others, grow spiritually, and experience God at work. Each day includes time for group reflection, prayer, and conversation, helping participants process their experiences and see the difference they are making.

Working side by side with other volunteers builds friendships and fosters teamwork. Many participants leave with a deeper sense of purpose, new perspectives, and a heart for serving others.

Bright Life Mission Trip Interesting Meeting

Bright Life Mission Trip: Appalachia Service Project
June 28 – July 4, 2026

Looking for a meaningful way to serve this summer? The Bright Life Mission Trip to Appalachia is an opportunity to step into a week of service, connection, and spiritual growth while supporting communities in need.

From June 28 through July 4, a team from our church will travel to the Appalachian region to partner with local organizations and ministries. Together, we will participate in hands-on service projects that help strengthen and support local families and neighborhoods.

Cost: $400 per participant

  • $200 deposit due upon application
  • Remaining $200 due by May 5

What You Can Expect

Participants will spend the week working together on projects that may include:

Bring the whole family for a special Holy Thursday experience designed to help children and adults discover the meaning of this sacred night together. This evening blends community, learning, and worship in a way that is engaging, meaningful, and welcoming for all ages.

Holy Thursday marks the night of the Last Supper, when Jesus shared a final meal with his disciples and gave the church the gift of communion. During this service, families will have the opportunity to explore the story and significance of communion in a way that is interactive and accessible for everyone.

Evening Schedule

5:00 – 6:00 PM | Community Dinner
We’ll begin the evening with a shared dinner in the Fellowship Hall. This relaxed time allows families to connect, meet others in the Floris community, and prepare for the worship experience together.

6:00 PM | Family Communion Service
After dinner, we’ll gather for a brief but meaningful communion service designed especially for families. Through simple teaching and reflection, both children and adults will learn about the meaning of communion and why it continues to be an important part of the Christian faith.

Children will also have a special role in the service. Rather than simply observing, kids will serve as communion helpers, making this a hands-on and memorable experience that helps them better understand this sacred tradition.

A Meaningful Holy Week Experience for Families

This service is designed to be engaging for children while meaningful for adults, creating a shared experience for the whole family as we begin the journey through Holy Week together. Whether your family has celebrated Holy Thursday for years or this is your first time attending, we invite you to join us for this special evening.

Holy Thursday is a meaningful and sacred moment in the Christian calendar. On this evening, we remember Jesus’ final meal with His disciples, often called the Last Supper. Remember the Last Supper

Holy Thursday invites us to pause and reflect on one of the most powerful moments in the story of Holy Week. During this service, we remember the night Jesus gathered with His disciples, shared a meal with them, and gave them a lasting example of love and humble service.
